Almost Done with the Iceland Pictures!
Posted By: GeoJerry, 09-28-2012, 05:26 PM

A few more landscapes... not too many left to go! Then we can look forward to Jimbo's.

Lannmannalaugur, posted before but reworked. It's interesting how after a few weeks you come back to a picture and wonder why you edited it that way originally.

Yeah, it really looked like this.

Lannmannalaugur, the dream place. We spent two days here and hiked 15 miles. I took over 650 images from here alone. This is where we caught the Northern Lights. That was aboput day 12 I believe so I only have 10 more days tro process to get here. Love the first image, The rest are not showing up for me. The hike almost killed me but ut was worth it. Cheers JIM
Thanks Jim, This was my favorite day of the trip. We only hiked two miles, but I wasn't really dressed for even that. This place was just amazing. Seeing the northern lights here would be unreal. Did you camp out here?

Not exactly sure what I posted on here originally but I'm sure these are mostly right.

Yes we did camp here. We even went in the hot pools. Interesting part is the washrooms are coed. Didn't know that until I was changing and a couple of women walked in. It will be at least a week until I post from here as this wss day 12. Cheers and nicely done. JIM

Thanks... yeah I remember the changing area. We didn't have enough time to go into the spring (had to choose between the hike and the spring), but I'm not sure I would have wanted to anyway. It was about 45-50 degrees and windy. I could have handled the walk to the spring from the changing room, in dry clothes and towel, maybe 500-100 ft?, but walking from the spring back to the room in wet clothes and towel would have been brutal.

It was a little chilly alright but worth it. JIM
