another beauty, CC has some beautiful orchid photos also, they must be popular down under. We have lots of cactus here in the desert, a different look and feel than the orchid I must say.

Cheers Bob! Sept-Oct here in the SW (CC is in the East) is full on finding the little buggers. These two are barely a cm or so across. Met a bloke from over east last week who has been looking for the Queen of Sheba for 16 years, next day I met some tourists who told me where some were, wish I had his name! I didn't venture to see as it would be at least a 5 hour round trip, oh well next year!

these are awesome dean, sure are tiny, the last one I posted is about 9cm across. I believe we have a good population of wild orchids here in Vic but I really wouldn't know were & when to start searching -more research required .
cheers

Here's a start for VIC, lucky for me I came across a reference just for SW of WA about 2" thick, I was a bit dubious forking out $70 bucks for it but worth every cent. Heck, I met more people in the last couple of months wandering the bush than in the last year in town!

Thanks EM, the 105mm is a great lens. K-5 for Christmas methinks, though love the K-10 it cannot do justice to the definition of some of these tiny babies.

All nature's credit and not mine, only spot I could set up the tripod without a massacre.
