Went went out one evening to a place called Alpine Stables as we had heard the Elk were coming out in the open near there. It was mating season as you could here the eerie sounds from in the bushes. We waited patiently. The first two I took with the Sigma 50-500 full out. The last two were with the DA* 60-250.
The fist two were quite a ways away and are heavy crops - still not bad for dusk and a relatively slow lens.

I slapped on the DA* 60-250 because we were going to another lake and this lens is much easier to hand hold for wildlife on the way. We were about to give up on the Elk coming out in the open and of course they did
- more pretty heavy crops.
The Elk closest to us was interested in checking out a rivals harem. We thought we might see a challenge here , but I guess he figured he could not win or knew of some easier prey.
