I'm starting to go through some more of our Valley of Fire photos and thought these might be a good introduction to the park area.

Wow, great! I need to get over there - it's an easy weekend trip from LA. Were all of these sites easily accessible?

I recognize Elephant Rock. You are tempting me to go back there in a few weeks, though I may not have the time amid my other plans.

Very easy to view all of these Jerry. What you have to do to get the most out of the Valley of Fire, is go to where the campgrounds are located and you will see a paved road to see Arch Rock. The road turns to gravel at Arch Rock, don't turn around, just continue on the dirt road which is a round trip of only 2 miles. This is where the most unique formations are located and most people don't travel this section of the park because it is a gravel road. Go figure, your car might get a little dusty, but every sandstone formation is very unique with many "blow holes" in the sandstone, many photo opportunities.

Thanks very much for the tip Bob. We will certainly get out there, probably in November. But first, Yosemite next week... never been there in the fall before.

Have only had a brief visit to this park; you are certainly whetting the apetite for a longer return visit.
