Well thats no fun... it wasn't taken with a K10D

LOL... but this is a 100% crop from image #8 so everyone can see how sharp a DA* 16-50 is at 16mm and f4!

Very nice Chris, you do have this down pat but since there is no exif embedded you'll have to tell us the surprise. :-)

Take care, Heinrich

It is, but I can't always get away with that wort of angle too often so I use sparingly... plus she was chair dancin and didn't notice me and the camera

Hmmm, now I don't like flickr... I guess if anyone wanted to find out they'd have to circle back to my site to see the exif via flickrs info.

Well there are a few images taken with a Canon 40D to test it in a low-light AF battle and also IQ. All I can say right now is I hate the button layout and the images look so dull until I punched them up. Funny how everyone in the bar said the same thing...

Here is another shot I liked from last night.

After going through every single image from last night I'd say that both cameras do an awesome job in Low-light... The Canon 40D does it faster, but not more accurately... well actually a little less accurate because many of the images were just shy of being tack sharp unlike the K10D images were I had a much higher percentage of tack sharp images. Image quality the K10D wins because it's more natural and more detail, but when you look at these small images nobody can truly tell a difference

hey Chris, awesome shots, bar photography is always difficult

one question is do you rely on auto or manual focus when working in clubs?

AF only

I never look through the viewfinder just point the camera out extended in front of me or above or even below and fire away. BTW, the bars I shoot in the only light available is neons, tv's and the occasional christmas lights so it's not the best place to try AF.

I've found this is the best method for small children at play as well. Makes sense - adults at a bar behave about the same.
