A few weeks ago, we had some big thunderstorms move through the Richmond area during the afternoon. After the storms had passed, I went to a meeting in the city; when it was over, I noticed the clouds in the sky and realized I needed a skyline picture with the sky still unsettled from the earlier weather. I immediately drove to Libby Hill Park, the site of some of my best work, and started shooting pictures of the city skyline. The only lens I had on me was the DA35. A combination of its excellent manual focusing and the zoom feature on the K-5's live view allowed me to get the focus just right, and despite the threat of being attacked by bats at any moment, I think I got a pretty decent result.
