Horsing Around
Lens: Tamron 90 2.8 macro, Pentax 18 - 135 Camera: K5 Photo Location: Uxbridge, Ontario
Posted By: tessfully, 10-21-2012, 07:56 AM

I was down at a friends for this past week. She has a horse and as I am always looking for photo opportunities I asked if I could photograph their relationship. Here are a few from the series. Thank you for looking

Kathy and Austin --- The wind was blowing, and this one was not in great focus but I love what it conveys.

I noticed a horse following me around so I decided to take her photo. As soon as I turned the camera on her she came trotting over. I was surprised to see she had only one eye. I took lots of photos and spent a great deal of time with her. Only after I got home did Kathy find out the horses name is Tess.

Thank you so much for having a look and commenting Dave! Horses really are incredible animals... I findd it difficult to capture their "specialness"... even my one-eyed Tess was so much more. So I am very happy you liked the series

What a gorgeous animal. I am surprised at how much I like that first shot. It is really super Tess. Great series and I thank you for sharing.

Wonderful shots, Tess! The second is my favorite as I love the mutual love and respect I see in that shot!

I adore horses. Used to go to "horse camp" every summer when I was a kid. Unfortunately, I haven't gotten a chance to ride or be around horses for many years now. I miss it. Thanks for sharing these lovely photos!

Love these, and they are superb! In all honesty, if anyone is getting better results from the K5, I have yet to see them. Maybe your processing plays a big part too, but whatever it is your skills show in every post.
Regards!

Me too Sue! There is a real connection in that first shot I love. The way Austin is looking at Kathy. Thanks so much for commenting!

You are welcome Lori! I used to go to horse camp, and many lifetimes ago I raced pacers and trotters. Now I just love being around them whenever possible. That second one is a lovely shot... I wish Kathy could have liked it... she is critical of how she looks. Thanks for the nice comments

Rupert, you are going to give me a big ego if you are not careful! Thanks so much for such high praise! I really really love reading your comments

I think I could be and would love to spend some quality time with horses.
