This is a very nice composition. I like the sharpness of the petal texture and water droplets in the lower left in the same plane of acceptably sharp focus as the fly is, and the color contrast between the fly and the green.

What I am not sure of is the effect of the soft yellow flower bud in the foreground. On the one hand, it provides a complementary color to the blue-purple leaves, but on the other, I am finding that it detracts from the subject; the fly; and I'm wondering how the image might have worked had someone taken a sissors and cut the stem of this bud off out of range of the frame..

Despite that internal debate, I like it a lot.

Thanks, on second thought I should have pulled that bud off but was lazy.

Sometimes we have to accept what nature gives us. I agree the yellow bud detracts somewhat but the sharp focus of the fly and water droplets keep the eye focused on the subject. Perhaps if the bud were even more out of focus?
