Had lunch today at a hillside park and shot this pair from the car(blind) with Sigma 70-200 and K-5 . The DA*300 was on the Q but I could not hold it steady enough.
I stopped at the camera store on my way home and picked up a window mount to be ready for next time

Male with grub.

looks like you got Mom and Dad enjoying the southland weather there. Nice colors Larry, haven't heard about a window mount, that would really come in handy for us. thanks Bob

Thanks for the kind words eaglem and Bob.

The window mount I purchased is a Manfrotto 243. I had an extra ball head that I put on it, and it is pretty solid. Will have to test it out soon.

Thanks for the information, this would really help out with my "drive-by" shootings that I often do, with a camera of course.

Lovely shots of my favourite bird... I have only seen twice in real life. I think the car window mount is a great idea... I would never have guessed there was such a thing!

I did get one shot handheld with the Q and DA*300 that wasn't too blurry due to shake.
BTW the two shots above are cropped about 50-60% off the original. The shot below is uncropped.

Two nice shots, I tried a window mount but did not like it. Made a "bean bag" but instead of beans filled it with Buckwheat Hull from an old pillow. It is light and works on any surface, use it a lot with bigma.

Thanks Heinrich. Good idea with the bean bag, will have to try that. Maybe I can fill it with candy for those days when I get hungry

Good ones crewl. Of course when they do this you don't need no stinking window mount!
