Farming in Iceland
Posted By: Jimbo, 10-28-2012, 10:05 AM

One of the interesting things about Iceland was its farms. Most had churches on them and most we against a sleep slope water of coarse a waterfall. All most all farms looks fairly run down and at times not sure how they could live there. Always windy and you could be 5-10 miles away from the next farm. One thing they all had was the internet and it was fast. Cheers JIM

That last one is very nice. I like the red highlights in there, offsetting Iceland's relentless greens, browns, and blacks.

I also noticed all the farms, even in the harshest of environments. I can only remember one type of farm though: hay (or some kind of grass). There was a lot of sheep, cattle, and horse ranch land, but I never saw anything growing that I thought I could eat.
Around the Island there are a lot of green houses. We passed many in use and a lot not in use. JIM

I always love farm scenes of any kind, but these from Iceland are over the top!

These are as good as your shoreline photos without signs of human habitation (high praise indeed!). I was especially taken with the second, the red roofed house under lowering clouds. What amazing light!

Jimbo - I have thoroughly enjoyed the all of photos you have shared from your trip through Iceland - What it must be like to every day walk out your door and see that beautiful set of falls we see in "Farming Water". You have captured the scenery and beauty of this country in a most skillful way - maybe one day I can visit this most extraordinary place and view it myself - Your photos have really captured the essence of this destination. Nicely done
