Some interesting pictures here, fun to scroll through. I especially liked the 5th one.

I noticed the German language signs in the 2nd picture. I know that this part of France was historically populated by Germanic people, but is German spoken widely by most of the residents as a first language? Or is everyone speaking French?

Thanks, Jerry.

Many people in Alsace (the region where Strasbourg is) speak a German dialect (Alsatian): Alsatian language - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
But the official language--which everybody speaks--is French.

Tess and Paulh--thank you very much for your nice words. Strasbourg is a wonderful and charming city; the region--Alsace and Lorraine--is one of my favorite places in the world. (Well, the world has many places I haven't seen ) Too bad I didn't have time to explore the rural areas. I hope I'll go back there one day.
The exterior of the cathedral looks like this: https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/post-your-photos/201605-architecture-notr...trasbourg.html

My other sets of Strasbourg are here and here.

Nothing wrong with that. (I skipped my upgrade from K-x to K-5 to be able to make the that trip to Benelux-Northern France, and it was worth it!)
