Return to Lemuria
Lens: Tamron Adaptalls Camera: K-5 Photo Location: Mt. Shasta, CA USA

Where the heck is Lemuria? The land known as "Lemuria",for the unenlightened, is Mt. Shasta. Lemuria is home to the extremely advanced people of the sixth sense, "Lemurians". Well, that's the rumor, believe what you want....... Elevation of Mt. Shasta is 14,176'.

The fire season is over, we loaded up the camera and headed for Mt. Shasta. Been needing an escape for months.

Mt. Shasta with early morning sun!

Mt. Shasta, up close with a ray of setting sun on the Red Banks! The Red Banks are the reddish formation up high!

Looking south from Mt. Shasta with the setting sun! Elevation bat. 7,000'

Mt. Lassen from Mt. Shasta.

Felt great to be up on Mt. Shasta.

Great shots from a wonderful area, relatively unknown compared to big draws like Yosemite and Yellowstone, but in many ways just as impressive and far less crowded.

Terrific photos. I especially liked the last two, with the layers of hills in between the camera and the horizon.

Beautiful images Will. Glad to some snow. We've got some on the Beartooth too. We gonna need it next summer!

Thanks all! Don't know how to respond to each of you individually! Never figured that out.

I took 160 photos in all! I promise not to bore you to tears with them all! I do have some nice photos of Burney Falls and McCloud that I'll post later when I get a few free minutes. We're gearing up for winter.

Anyhoo, appreciate everyones comments and glad you enjoyed the images, I sure enjoyed taking them! Been a long time coming.

Thanks! I'll give credit to KatzEye Split Screen Focus!

Sorry, I've got a fondness for old Tamron Adaptall 2 lenses. The photos were taken with one of these three lenses: Tamron Adaptall 2, 23A, 30A or 40A. First photo with 30A, second with 40A, and the last one with 23A. Not sure about the other two. I took many photos with each lens just having fun!

I've never been anywhere like this! Amazing place and you did a wonderful job capturing the beauty, ruggedness and essence of the place. I love all shots but most especially the one where you are looking south at sunset. Gorgeous. Thank you for sharing
