An abandoned home in Bodie. I was playing with Aperture's B&W setting. This is "red filter" (not IR), and this popped out. I thought it looked kind of cool!

It is a cool effect Jerry, I have been shooting more with the incamera filters to get the same feel as you have here, nice job.

It does transfer the feeling of abandonment rather well!

Spooky! Bodie, CA? Just south of Coleville? That's a wonderful historic place. As I remember there are many restored buildings. It's been a few years, hope they didn't let the place go to rack-n-ruin! I have hundreds of film pictures taken at Bodie stored away.

Your photo is fantastic BTW! Great effect and very well done! You didn't over do anything! Sorta reminds of Ansel Adams! Sorta! Just need to add a Aspen somewhere!

I don't shoot RAW anymore Jerry, but I don't think they do now that I think of it. Maybe someone else will see this and answer for sure.

Nicely done take on the old town!

And I wish you all would quit showing off our dry and dusty corner of the world. I'm gonna be mighty upset if I start tripping over Pentaxians who've learned just how pretty it actually is here.

Nothing to see here in this hot and dirty desert! Move along. In the words of Sam Kinison, "It's SAND!!!"

Thanks Will! I don't know where Coleville is, but Bodie is between Bridgeport and Lee Vining. Go north from Lee Vining several miles and you'll see a road going east. Bodie is 13 miles down that road (the last 3 miles unpaved).

I'll do an experiment and let you know how it turns out.

Thanks gifthorse! I must have been within about 5 miles of the Nevada border here.

Here's a new version that I like a little better. I thought the vegetation looked too light.

That's the place! A map will show that Bodie is just South of Coleville .....who cares! What happened to the rest of the place? Bodie is a treasure of old historic photography! Your photo is fantastic, please don't say that's all......
