Liard River, part 1
Lens: 16-45 Camera: K20D Photo Location: British Columbia, Canada
Posted By: Heinrich Lohmann, 11-06-2012, 12:02 PM

On the way back from the Yukon I drove 3 days in smoke, sometimes a little sometimes a lot. There were numerous forest fires burning both in Northern British Columbia and Alberta.

Liard River Bridge, it's the only suspension bridge left on the Alaska Highway.

Nice photos of a great river! There's a lot of water moving! Those rapids are impressive! Beautiful country too!

Know what you mean about wild fires. We had 40 fires burring around us at one time this summer! All caused by humans! One was reported as caused by lighting until it was pointed out that there were no clouds in the area when the fire started!

Wow - this bridge appears to be in the middle of nowhere, Heinrich. Well captured, as usual.

The water was so low... great shots again Heinrich. Those rapids look dangerous. We have to include the Yukon in our plans. Thanks for sharing.
