Ive been working on getting my shots sharper and sharper using different techniques, when I first started with DSLRs I was having a hard time getting sharp shots, I feel this is a huge improvement-

Very good James. Not only sharp as a tack but the exposure is right on as well.

I agree! I'm working on the same thing myself and making slow progress. I'd be very pleased with that.

I am amazed at the sharpness of this K-5, especially since I have been reading a lot about focusing issues and sharpness compared to the K-5IIs since it came out, I really am pleased with the K-5 classic, it is still way beyond my capabilities.
I think all in all it is more about what the photographer does then about the equipment, I am learning this fact more and more every time I pick this camera up.
As always the web viewing of these images do them no justice, when I open the images up on my computer they look way better.
For those of you who may be having issues getting sharply focused shots, just hang in there and work on your techniques, that is what I did, I never even messed with the focus adjustments in the camera settings (don't know how to even if I tried, that stuff is confusing to me)

Me neither. I have zero confidence in my ability to do it right.

James this is an awesome shot in every way! And what you say about trying over and over again resonates with me... Your practice really shows in the superb image!

Love the snowies especially when they have had their "hair" done. It is so hard to get the exposure right on these white birds. Great job.
