Wonderful shots and so very sharp and colorful. Enjoyed seeing the purple finch as we don't get many here. The house finches seem to have taken over. That indigo bunting is awesome.

Nice shots! Nice and sharp, good colour, just enough depth of field. By the way, the greenish Orchard Oriole is a one-year old male (aka "first-spring", "1st alternate plumage"). Females don't have the black bib.

Yep. My mistake. I know better but I got too caught up in the mechanics of posting and wasn't watching what I was posting.
Thanks for the correction.

For the record: Female Orchard Oriole.

I shot with a high end 500mm, 600mm and 1000mm APO scopes with and without a TC not a conventional telephoto lens.
My longest glass with a TC is about 2000mm equivalent FL.

The P. Finch are a winter bird for us here in the upper midwest and H. Finch we have all year.

I have a PS plugin called Imagegenomics Noiseware to thank for the creamy BG plus the paper thin DOF
At 600mms.

Glad folks like the bird shots . Birds and nature are my first love.

Thanks to all,
Wildman

I should have known that such good photos could only have been taken by someone who really knows his subjects. Glad to learn that you're not one of those photographers that takes a picture of a bird, then asks a birder to identify the species (for free) so that he can put the photo on the market for profit.
