Is this a direct photograph of a whirlpool or another type of image?

I need some of that hair Jer, the transplant from my nose and ears does not seem to be enough. Cool shot.

This is very very cool, and it could be hair or water, but as an abstract all that matters is that it is very very cool!!!

Really cool shot Jer. I am going to vote for it being "hair of the dog". Good eye and a wonderful abstract.

Guys, this is simply a shot of some Meguiar's boat wax applied to the acrylic panel in our boat's forward hatch. I took the pic as I "documented" our autumn clean up and preparation for winter boating, and thought the swirls might make a good abstract. For PP, I converted to B&W and pumped the contrast to high heaven giving the hair-like look. Thanks for indulging my whimsy.

Thanks, Susan. A little hair of the dog was utilized during the day this was taken.

You misssed a spot. You must have had one of Charliezap's red cups near by.

And you spotted a miss . Your suspicion regarding the red cup is not far off the mark.

Bob, I use Meguiar's Tech Wax 2.0 - which combines wax with a light cleaner - on Connie's Rogue. For the Porsche and Bimmer, I use Meguiar's Ultimate Polish (a light cleaner and glaze) followed by a coat of Meguiar's Ultimate Liquid Wax. I wax our cars three or four times a year; once a year, just prior to waxing, I give them a clay job if necessary. I've used all sorts of stuff over the years (including the old two step Blue Coral back in the day). I've been quite pleased with Meguiar's recent products, which feature a very effective hydrophobic character that allows the waxed car to resist wetting.
