The HDR really brings out the texture in the ground

And people criticize HDR. This is a nicely toned capture and post processing.

iMHo HDR is like makeup on women....the trick is to make it look like you didn't use it.

Totally agree. And to use it only when needed, like when the contrast of the scene exceeds what the sensor is capable of. And, if you shoot raw, that's not all that often.

Very nice! Have you tried any other B&W treatments with this photo? I see you have very good cloud'age in the sky, maybe a little different treatment could brighten up the clouds and give it a more dramatic look. What does the color version look like <> can you post the color version also?

Thank you guys ... yes, I tried to do different versions of this BW but I did not like some areas of pasteurization on the sky when doing more dramatic (darker) skies especially when I converted to 8 bit of jpg. Yes, when I finish the color version I'll post it... I promise . Thank you again guys.

I like both, particularly the first one, which has an eerie, other worldly feel. A very nice job, in my view.

I also like both treatments, but find the first one more to my taste. These indicate to me that you know how to use HDR to enhance rather than distort the image. Thanks again.

Gorgeous! That first image is spectacular... awesome masterful post processing, but a great composition and landscape setting to begin with. Thank you for sharing
