Thanks guys. Filters? I didn't use any filters Bob. I just used live view so I didn't burn the eyes out. We did have a grade 13 welding mask glass to view with the naked eye though.

I had a look at some of the shots by professional photographers on one of our major newspaper sites and some of thought were pretty ordinary I might say.

Again thanks heaps. It is only because my daughters new son arrived 5 weeks early that we were in North Queensland for the eclipse. Lucky hey.

Nice, that's way better than it looked on the morning TV show with its annoying commentary.

At that time, in the couple of minutes of totality, probably no filter was needed.

Thank you. Yeah we were lucky with the clouds, got some great sun beam shots first then the clouds cleared and we got the eclipse. A bonus. Now bring on the next one in 2028.

That is an awesome shot of a rare event. How fortunate for you to step out onto your front yard and capture this shot. The eclipse chasers from around the world would be envious! Well done. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks Fotogaffer, it was a 5 week early grand son that brought us to Cairns and the chance of the eclipse.

Thanks Dave.
