I risked a winter storm today
Posted By: little laker, 01-03-2007, 09:09 PM

I had cabin fever today, and decided to do something about it.
So even though there was a nasty winter storm in the area I went to Jewel lake for a short hike.
I got lucky and the weather cleared about 15 min after I started, and I got some really nice pictures.
(could the Photo gods have liked me today?)

This is my dream cabin.

as the sky was starting to clear

I just liked the look of these leaves

and tonights sunset was beautiful as well

I'm sure glad that I risked the winter storm today, and wish that I always got that lucky.

Nothing quite like being out just after the snow has fallen, before the sun warms things so much they fall off, yet provides quality lighting. As Heinrich said 'like the leaves'.

I love photgraphs in/of the snow
(Currently they are calling for the next 2-3 days to be in the 60's AND I am in Baltimore MD, It should be high of 40-45 max right now, now thats the lows. I am doing a winter camping trip this weekend and I am going to be able to were shorts!)

A lovely set of pics, and a dream cabin indeed. How do you get to the shop?

Stu,
As long as you keep that white stuff away from PA. I will keep looking at your pictures and saying how beautiful they are .They are very nice sots, and I like them all. Just be careful in the cold weather.

Good Shooting.

I like the leaf shot, very nice. I also like the moodiness of the lighting in the 8th shot. Nice stuff

I hope that you have a good time there Brendan, I always find that it doesn't matter what the weathers doing as long as everyone has fun while there at camp.

I'd like to than everyone for their comments.

And if I can you've got yourself a deal David
I don't mind the snow 3 or 4 months a year, I find that it gives us a nice balance and keeps the forest fires away during the summer.

Nice pics and great scenery. I guess this is where you spend your time fishing in the summer. Love the photo of the leafs. Thanks for sharing. I have posted a few opposite photos from our summer fishing.

Cheers

Eddie
