Backyard safari

Between a back log of PP and the southern winter I haven't posted any photos taken with my Pentax DFA 100mm macro before.

All this critters are from my backyard, all in natural light since I haven't sorted out any decent lighting set ups yet.

Chewing it's way through the zucchini plant

Technically, this little jumping spider was in the front yard, he's a different species(more colourful) than the ones in the backyard

Excellent macros! Love the how the narrow depth of field works for you... great focus points and sharpness, and the colours are beautiful.

Thanks Tess, the shallow depth of field is born out of necessity but I try to use it as well as possible. Hopefully I'll get a good lighting solution in the near future and be able to use a smaller aperture more.

Here's another recent visitor to my backyard

Very good series of shots you've got to love the rich blues and reds those damsel flies come in.

Thanks for the comments EagleM, I'm hoping to get a few shots of some red damsel flies around my parents dam over Xmas.
