A few shots from some weeks ago of the so called Strontrace. A regatta with old sailing barges based on the old trade in manure between my part of the country and the provinces on the other side of the sea (that nowadays is a lake.) Yes we exported manure! Before the barges sail out the old fishing vessels go out for a fishing contest. And if the wind isn't favorable like this time; the public lends a hand by pulling the ships.

Got family in Holland but I´ve never heard of this event. Looks like great fun. Especially for the photographer as wtlwdwgn pionted out. // Nick

Nick and Susan, thank you both! I guess it is mainly a regional event but I was surprised how many people turned up. And is sure was fun to shoot!
