Monument Valley
Posted By: Bob Harris, 11-17-2012, 09:42 PM

from our travels, Monument Valley is located on Navajo Tribal lands, you can either take a guided tour of the area or use your own vehicle to travel the 17 mile dirt road traversing the park.

Trev, just curious if the John Ford/John Wayne westerns were popular in Australia?
Absolutely mate......actually, I reckon I can see john Wayne in your shot.....I sure can imagine it, that's for sure.
My favourite John Wayne movie was "The Searchers".
Cheers, Pickles.

Anyhoo, glad you didn't get upset with my posting on your thread - I just couldn't resist! That's not a bad movie! Probably too tame for todays culture. Haven't watched "The Searchers" in years! Your photo sorta got us in the mood! Thanks!

A great image, I've now added this location to the bucket list.

I hope I get plenty of warning as there is so many places to see.

John Ford and John Wayne in Monument Valley. It didn't get any better when westerns were king. Thanks for sharing these Bob.
I'm sure you have visited here Susan, the campground is pretty nice at Gouldings, just make sure and get reservations during season.
