Some birds

Not many birds and not much variety. Gray and overcast but I had the camera so thought I would use it.

It's a Boat-tailed Grackle Jim. Very noisy and messy but when the light hits it just right the colors are amazing.

Another nice series Susan. Thanks for sharing. I've gave up on bird shots, just can't seem to get a good shot of one.

NIce shots slowpez. Tough metering on the dark grackle and then the white egret but you nailed each one. I must admit I usually ignore the gulls but after seeing your photos, they can be much more photogenic than they appear in real life. Thanks for sharing.

I give up on bird shots too then get sucked in again. When I see those that some people post on this site I wonder why I bother. I do enjoy trying though.

Gulls also seem to stay in one place for a bit which makes photographing them easier.

Thanks Cee Cee. Those are juvenile ring bill gulls I think. I like the coloration of the juveniles - prettier than the adults.

The flat gray background is perfect for the grackle -- really shows off those colors. Snowy Egrets are always welcome, of course. Plus a couple of nice creative seagull shots -- love those feet.

Thanks so much. That tree was full of the grackles and I had a field day shooting them.
