I was trying my hand at a back-lit photo of my granddaughter on an early morning fishing trip to the White River in Northwest Arkansas.

I really like the mist rising off the river. It captures the feel of early morning so beautifully. If it was mine, I might try cropping out the big overblown sun above the hills as it is a bit overpowering. That is just my 2 cents worth though.

I'm going through a stage now where if can't see a different look in my own shots I pick the good ones where I can see if my pp makes a great shot maybe a little bettter.This activity keeps me away from my "RED SOLO CUP' moments and stirs my creative juices from someone else's original vision.-charliezap

This is a toughie. On the one hand the sun is a bright spot but then it adds to the scene especially the iridescent colors surrounding it. In the first one the girl's silhouette blends into the rocks but the blacks and colors are better. In the second there's better detail in the shadows and the girl is more distinct but the rest is a bit washed out. You'll have to spend all of Thanksgiving day working on this. You can have some leftovers tomorrow.
