Happy Thanksgiving to you as well wildman! Those are some nice looking ladies, mine is in the oven. Was this taken with your 600mm? I couldn't tell from the Exif data.

I suspect these Turkey's are especially thankful to be roaming instead of basting. Happy Thanksgiving to all our US patrons.

Nope.
Taken with a Chinese made 500mm F/5 2 element Fraunhofer achromat. It cost about 100 bucks new. This lens design is almost 200 years old.
Compare that to the modern Sigma 500mm 4.5 with 12 elements.
So the only glass between the bird and your sensor in this shot is two elements one of crown and one of flint glass.
