Yosemite Off the Beaten Track
Camera: Pentax K-5 Photo Location: Yosemite National Park
Posted By: GeoJerry, 11-26-2012, 08:39 PM

A still life at Dog Lake, Tuolumne Meadows high country.

A lookout off CA 120 on the way to Tioga Pass.

Playing around with Simplify. Splashes of water in Dog Lake.

Not so much off the beaten track this time. Late afternoon shot of El Capitan. I'm really pleased with the sharpness of the 55-300 mm on this one,

Nice! What filters did you use on the first 3. Was it a Topaz filter?

Thanks Camo! I used Topaz Simplify's BuzSim preset on the first one (forgot which variation).
On the second and third I used Photomatix and then some fine tuning in Aperture.

Thanks Bob! Between the two of us we should be able to get through all the National Parks before too long.

Great series. #1 Has an unusual sense of scale. Small tree or big rock?. I like the crazy paving and the detail in the last.

A fascinating and eclectic group of photos. I especially like the B&W one, but they all look great to my eye.

Really nice series and the PP is interesting a suits each subject. I'm with Jer on the B&W. It is my favorite though it was really hard to pick just one.

Some interesting processing , I looked at Simplify as I have a few Topaz plugins which I like (BW, Denoise, Re-Mask and Adjust) will have to give Simplify a closer look.

Wow, thanks for all the positive feedback on these!
Bruce, interesting comment on the scale. I hadn't thought about it, but if I squint I can see your point.
