Bordeaux for Christmas
Camera: Pentax K-7 Photo Location: Bordeaux, France
Posted By: GeoJerry, 12-09-2012, 02:43 PM

I want to frame four 11x14 pictures of Bordeaux for my daughter for Christmas. She's lived there for two years while getting an MBA, but will return home next week. I've reduced it down to 5 and would appreciate any input on which one to eliminate, or any suggestions. I am locked into the cropping here due to the frame format so a few of them are cropped more severely than I'd like. Any suggestions?

I got some good tips on this one a few months ago but post it again to compare with those above.

For me, #4. The others really speak France to me while that is more focused on that one place. It may have meaning to her, that would be different, but for me the other four are the ones to print.

#3 has a truly parisian dreamy feel. Though you have several very nice images to choose from.

#3 feels like a painting. Magnificent!

I would print the last four. Eliminate #1 - it's not bad but the others are better IMHO.

Thanks all for the feedback. So I have one vote to eliminate #1, one to eliminate #4, and 2 to keep #3. I need a tiebreaker. :-)

Well, I already voted, but you have to keep the medieval gate IMHO. Iconic for the location.

I tend to agree, it's such a well known landmark, even though some rate the pic lower. I posted #1-4 on reddit, and got much more favorable responses for #1 and #2.

I'm with Tess, buy another frame. When viewing the first one and scrolling down, I think I like it better with the bottom cropped to remove the partial view of the tunnel through the arch. I like everything else about it though.

Thanks Susan. Good idea on the tunnel. I think instead of recropping though, I'll just mask out the tunnel part and put something less busy in there.
