A little too contrasty for my taste. But that is me of course.
I most like the last but I think I would crop out the spots in the bottom corner.
Well done. Fun playing around like that, isn't it?

As photos I have to agree with Bruce and Stu

but as art, I think they look kind of cool, like they could be used as album cover art.

I guess it all depends on what look you were going for

Yeah toss me in the same boat. But there's something interesting with the first shot, I like it but not sure why. Artistic I guess as Dr Jeykl suggests.

Well In the greater picture I realize the pictures are very contrasty. In reality It was an exercise in Photo Shop to see what different ways light and shadow affect the shot. In some ways your line of thinking is correct. Remember tho Photography is an art form. Perception is not only in the eye but also in the mind.
As just a photo these would never make it. Think of the ways in which the art form can play. In reality as art the photos can be used in many applications. For those who are in the graphics field or are studying the trade how these shots can be used in the media and web designs. They are eye catching at best and used in the right application can lead the eye and mind to the main aspect of the project.
As art take notice to the way that thin sliver of light in the left side back lights the rose and the way it plays on the scene. If you look at only the rose you lose the perspective, but looking at the details, they define the depth of the concept.

Looking a them solely as graphic art I can tell you this. I like the first one way better than the second. I also like the third one better than the fourth. The spider web (at least thats what it looks like) is a bit distracting.
