Gay Married in Seattle :D
Lens: FA 77 & DA10-17 Camera: K-01 Photo Location: Seattle City Hall ISO: 400
Posted By: Ecaterin, 12-10-2012, 11:31 AM

Yesterday, I was privileged to spend the afternoon at the massive Gay Marriage event thrown by Seattle City Hall. It was amazing to hear each couple called out and hear that so many of them had been waiting 10, 20, 30 even 43 years to have the right to marry. Forty Three Years. Wow.

I know that over 150 couples were married, but I couldn't stay for the whole thing - I was woefully under dressed for the event

This was the most concentrated photographic JOY I'll undoubtedly ever get to photograph and I'll never forget it. Here are some highlight photos, but I have the story of the day and a huge photo essay post on my Blog - please go enjoy the whole sheebang

And those of you in Washington State who helped make this happen with your votes and love - you are the awesome-est

Man, those were some of the most CONGRATULATED married couples in history. They literally ran a gauntlet of congratulations, confetti, flower petals, cheers, honking from cars on the street, signs.....

Here's what it looked like from near the top of the stairs where they left the building:

Yep. I can imagine. It's wonderful when wrong things are made right.
There is nothing better than to realize when I am wrong, and I get the opportunity to tell the people I disagreed with, that I *was* wrong.

Ergo..me buying a Pentax Q and loving it.

LOL! That's a very sweet attitude - and one more people should adopt for, you know, blood pressure and human harmony purposes at the very least!

TY tessfully! It was extraordinary - and pretty much you couldn't take a bad photo surrounded by that much joy (technically inadequate, maybe, but not bad!)

dadipentak - It was a day of constant smiles. Like, my FACE was sore from smiling the next day - I'm sure it was a common after effect
