Nothing is what it seems to be.

I posted this shot a long while ago but I didn't do both versions together. The 1st shot is rotated 180degs and the 2nd was the way it was. There was absolutely no wind and the stream was deathly still.I'm trying to have some fun lately considering to the Mayan calender Dec 21st is our last day.--charliezap

I love a little bit of trickery like this, the giveaway is the water is a little darker.

Looks a great location, nice capture.. works well either way up!

what a reflection, that's great charlie, I saw the join line in the first photo and thought thats a bit weird, it wasn't until I saw the second shot that I realised what I was looking at in the first, .....still, just having my morning coffee (its 11.00am should have been working 3hrs ago but what the heck the Mayans might be right) and my brains not functioning all that well due to a warm restless night, ... cool shot!

cheers

Really nice. In the bottom photo, because of the tones, the mind immediately determines that the reflection forms the bottom 2/3 of the photo. But the top one is a really cool trick on the eye. I see the symmetry but feel disoriented, not knowing which way is up. Nice effect, and an excellent photo even without the illusion.

You're getting to be one sneaky dude there Charlie... my first thought was Xmas wreaths. The season is affecting my perception.

Charlie, I scratched my head looking at the first one but than looking at the second one everything made perfect sense. You had a good eye spotting that one. Thanks for showing us.

Wow it's a fun shot Charlie - no worries about the Mayans , I figure they either ran out of rock or their Calendar Sculpture died or was sacrificed.

I didn't notice the reflection at first, I thought the dark areas were actually letters spelling out a word (sort of a topiary message), do I feel dumb
