I can live with that exposure. What a great scene you have captured. I would love to walk my dogs there.

It is a State park called Terrapin Trail on Kent Island , MD that the state actually did it right. Nice and peaceful place.....I saw this fence the last time I was there a couple of weeks ago and really like the way it flowed.

I am forcing myself to shoot in manual mode to learn about exposure and DOF. I stopped to take the picture of the fence when I noticed a lady walking her dogs out the corner of my viewfinder when I first started to set up for the scene. Not quick enough to get the exposure in manual mode or the depth of field focus right before she was gone. Not smart enough to think to go into program aperture mode to catch the moment....P&S is so much easier...lesson learned...I hope

It does look like a nice spot and the sun was getting low, the fence gives a great line and the person and dogs adds some interest. Pretty darn good.

lol ... I actually meant "nothing but trouble" in a "continuous fench mantainance" sort'a way , but I'm glad that wasn't clear so that you shared that with us. I used to use TAv the most, but have been using M more and more of late and really liking it (whwellll... when I have time to set-up the shot that is).

ES Charlie, I see nothing terribly wrong with that exposure. You've got some blown highlights off of the top rail in the fence, but I don't find them distracting at all, to be truthful the double line of the fence horizontals really helps make that shot. Good capture, I'd be very happy with it.

NaCl(and I have fond memories of Kent Is. tho I haven't been there is some time)H2O

Thank you...I like the shot too...Kent Island has changed like every where else...a lot of buildings going up everywhere, but this trail I have talked about goes almost the width of the Island and ends up near the Bay Bridge on the Cheaspaeke Bay. Some really nice nature areas to walk and enjoy and the bay is has some spectacular sunsets...
