Let it Snow! part two (A Dog's Life)
Lens: Pentax 18 - 135 Camera: K-5 Photo Location: South Algonquin, Ontario
Posted By: tessfully, 12-13-2012, 06:34 AM

Yesterday it snowed all day...those big white fluffy flakes that float and accumulate softly. I wanted to try and capture the beauty of walking through the woods, but it is hard with so many trees in the way!

Here is a series from yesterday's dog walk...

Tripper is saying, ya, this is our path

In the woods

Waiting while I take photos

Emerging near the Wetlands

The Disturbed Wetlands as seen from an excavated area

The blue sky and a bit of sun poked out for 5 minutes

trying to be artsy

Dreamer gave me the look that said, I am old, tired and I want to go home...

Heading back to the woods

thanks for looking

Beautiful shots, as usual... Love the pattern of the branches and the color contrasts in #3, especially! Could I pretty-please save a copy of it for a wallpaper image on my 'puter?

Very "cool" refreshing shots Tess.We might have a storm here next Tues-Wed.The weather prognosticators here are excited and are in semi-orgasmic mode with the potential storm.--charliezap

These are all such beautiful photos Tess, love the tree branches covered in snow. I assume you wear some type of snowshoe when you take these walks. We had some very bad weather here today in Nevada, it sprinkled for almost 15 minutes, now that was scary in this 68f degree weather, but we stayed in the motorhome to wait the storm out.

These are absolutely wonderful images. I really like the trees, along with the patterns!

A storm just blew in to Arizona this afternoon. Flagstaff should get about 2 feet of the white stuff, and our youngest just arrived home ahead of the storm from NAU up in Flagstaff. What I am excited about is, if Flagstaff gets 2 feet, the Grand Canyon should get even more, which means I should be able to get up there and grab some pictures with snow across the Canyon (and perhaps Sedona & Oak Creek Canyon, too).

Hope you get some white stuff Charlie... it would be nice to set those lights against snow!

Thank you CC! That's right, it is hard to take a good photo from inside the forest!

You are welcome... I am sure by the end of winter you (and me too) will be sick of my snow photos!

Wow! I had no idea Arizona would get that much snow? I thought all of Arizona was hot and dry? Very exciting... I hope you get the Canyon shots and share them with us!

Beautifully done, as always, Tess. I especially like the first one. No snow here, but while I was riding my bike yesterday (in riding shorts and a short-sleeve riding shirt), I had an "ear virus" - the song "Sleigh Ride" was cycling (ho, ho) through my tiny mind.

Great shooting, beautiful scenery, and those handsome Doggies! What could be better? Maybe a PM that would tell me you had posted more Doggie shots, I almost missed them!

Regards!
