Winter Birds
Lens: various Camera: K5 Photo Location: Pahrump, NV

At our RV park some hummingbirds remained for the winter to our delight. We have about 5 that visit during the day at our feeder and they don't fight with each other like during the summer months, they are actually quite polite.

Weather is still in the 60's and I think the hummingbirds are still enjoying the warmth of the desert. Heinrich, they were flying around like they were showing off for me, quite a fun shoot.

Nice shots of the little acrobats Bob. From the title I thought I was going to see pictures of elderly Canadians

We don't have a lot of them here Jer, but it is fun watching the few we have and I think we are lucky to have them around still. I think these guys are retired and just decided to stay in the desert to winter

Charlie, you'll be able to isolate on their eyes with that badboy. I took these shots from about 5 feet.

I'll tell you Larry, we have a lot more Canadians in this campground than hummingbirds. They seem to group at the heated pool and spa area during the day. i should do a thread on them.

Tess, a weird event happened yesterday, we got snow up in the mountains. Very scary for us, we will be headed south real soon.

I just take the birds for granted here in the s/w Dave, keep that feeder out and you'll get lucky one of these days.
