I got to spend an hour with the Bigma today.I think that it's a keeper.

All shots were hand held at 1/320 sec f/8 neighborhood with 800ISO.The optical stabilizer works really well when shooting hand held.The place where I go to try a lens out is the Bridge that crosses Rte.1 here in Saugus where you can see miles in either direction with all the stores and billboards of every size and shape that makes or breaks what a lens has for resolution but that's for another day.The only pics here that are cropped are 1,5 and 6.I need to go downstairs now and work up a sweat on the treadmill to get my excitement level down to normal.

Way to go Charlie! They look very steady for only 1/320 at 500mm.

The day was mostly cloudy Larry but I like the results so far.

This is where I go to test drive a lens at times.As you can see there is much detail to be captured. This shot was taken with the 50-300mm Pentax 1/640 f/8 ISO 800 last year.Let's see what the Bigma can do.

The Bigma will be put to good use in your hands Charlie. I have the old version and in good light , stabilized or tripod it has produced some stellar shots !

Hmmm.....don't know Charlie, but I think I would send it back as there is too much "purple fringing" in #1. Oh, wait, the branches are purple.

They look pretty darn good for hand holding. I'm simply not that steady any more.

you can really get up close and personal with that cannon charlie.... remember, don't be tempted by those half open bedroom curtains now....
