Nice shots Rob, but I think that all those smiles are because when your face freezes the skin tightens up and causes the corners of the mouth to draw back and up.

NaCl(it's either that or they are thinking how much warmer they'll feel once inside with a cuppa hot cocoa)H2O

Nice shots Rob! Looks like everyone is having fun.

I grew up (contrary to popular belief) in Southern Ontario and know what you had to before the pictures were taken - find a hill! For those not familiar, this is a very flat piece of Canada. We used to use the banks of the Sydenham River, but that was risky as the river seldom froze completely over. Or we'd slide down the side of an overpass by The 401 which was safer than the river as you generally were sliding away from traffic.

Thanks everyone for looking, and commenting. Indeed, finding a "hill" around here is generally the first obstacle. Thankfully our little town maintains this one right across from the town track and field complex and, because it's not very treacherous, it's usually pretty empty.

The first one is priceless.
The joy on his face is a treasure...makes me smile.
Thanks

Terrific, spontaneous people photos - these things can be hard to capture (at least for me), and you've done a marvelous job.

Note, however, that you can get people to smile widely where it's warm.
