Bird Sanctuary
Lens: Pentax F 70 - 210 f/4, Tamron 90 f/2.8 macro Camera: K-5 Photo Location: Niagara Falls, Ontario

The Bird Sanctuary has many rooms and so many species of birds and other exotic critters it is mind-boggling. We should have gone in the morning as I needed an entire day inside this most amazing place. Also, it was overcast outside which meant the large aviary didn't have the benefit of natural light and left me figuring out how to shoot under these circumstances. Most of the birds were free to fly around and rarely posed in a still calm manner.

These are the shots I really like.....

Pentax F 70 - 210 ISO 6400 f/5.6 1/125

Pentax F 70 - 210 ISO 100 f/5.6 1/6

Pentax F 70 - 210 ISO 100 f/4 1/50

Tamron 90 ISO 200 f/5.6 1/13

Tamron 90 ISO 6400 f/5.6 1/100

Tamron 90 IDO 400 f/5.6 1/50

Pentax F 70 - 210 ISO 3200 f/5.6 1/60

Pentax F 70 - 210 ISO 1600 f/5.6 1/50

Never been much into Birding. These shots, however, are excellent.

Thanks so much wcchamp I was so critical of these when I got home, but maybe they weren't as bad as I thought.

Ya done good young lady! Just stopped by for a quick peek to see what everyone was doing and what a treat! Those birds are wonderful! The Macaw???......looks like a red parrot, is stunning! So is the tweety bird on the tile rood - a pigeon of some type? Anyhoo, they are all great! Amazing photographs but equally amazing are the birds themselves! Thanks!

So happy to see you here Will! I too have been so busy I can't find time to really sit at the computer. Thanks for taking time to leave really nice comments I wish I had memorized the bird names but I can't remember most of them. Next year I will write them down. Happy New Year!

Terrific images. That Macaw looks as if he should be on the shoulder of a pirate.
