Still working on macros. But without many interesting bugs or plants around this time of year in my immediate area, I had to search for something else to practice on. How about a bag of marbles?

Here I hung a bag of marbles on a little swivel arm coming off a desk lamp.


Zooming in and muting the colors a bit.


Zooming in again, using vibrancy to bring out the green. Using on camera flash here.


Running two pictures through Topaz Simplify and then blending the result with the original in OnOne Perfect Layers.




Obviously with too much time on my hands, taking one picture, making three copies and rotating each 90 degrees, and then blending in OnOne with different opacity and blend formulas.


And then doing the whole thing over with different parameter choices.
