What do you shoot again and again?
Posted By: betsypdx, 02-17-2008, 09:25 PM

I find that there are certain subjects that I photograph again and again. What subjects do you take pictures of on a regular basis?

Here are some of my favorite subjects from the last couple weeks.

I take pictures of two plum trees whenever I walk along Portland's Eastbank Esplanade:

My parent's lamp (this time reflected in a cup of coffee - another oft-photographed subject):

My dog:

My neighbor Lucy's flowers:

A low fence at Portland's Japanese Garden (using film!):

Let's see your favorite subjects.

I had better stop replying to each photog I love or I'll clog the whole post! Instead I'll post my first photos to the forum. IImages (c) 2008 Robin Parmar.
Great first shots! I like rust and pealing paint myself.

Mike C. - I tried to "multi-post". Happy to finally see the famous dashboard hat. Cool shot!

To everyone - l
Let's keep seeing your commonly shot subjects - it's fun to see what captures everyone's eyes.

I've gone through several phases. I used to shoot at our local zoo quite a bit. Then I switched to a city lake. Now, I'm on a bit of a downtown kick. One side note about shooting at a zoo: If your zoo is like ours, then it's probably open year-round. That means it's open during all sorts of weather. I used to load up my gear, toss a big rain poncho over everything, and head out to the zoo during near-monsoon conditions. I walked up to the gate on one such day and the girl working the booth said, "You've GOT to be kidding me! Where do you think you're going to be able to shoot on a day like this?" I said, "Inside the herpetarium and the aquarium. I'll also shoot that enclosed aviary. This way I can set up lights and be reasonably assured that nobody will come along to knock them over, right?"

Excellent shots Frank. I love the mist in the third one. Would only say that maybe there's a bit of oversharpening?

Thanks for the comments. You are probaably right about the oversharpening. It's a bad habbit I need to correct.

It would seem too many sunsets and lighthouses with both mixed together at times. Some of these have been posted before (Btw my image host doesn't allow the larger size to show here so don't bother clicking on the image):

And there are lots more where these came from...
