What do you shoot again and again?
Posted By: betsypdx, 02-17-2008, 09:25 PM

I find that there are certain subjects that I photograph again and again. What subjects do you take pictures of on a regular basis?

Here are some of my favorite subjects from the last couple weeks.

I take pictures of two plum trees whenever I walk along Portland's Eastbank Esplanade:

My parent's lamp (this time reflected in a cup of coffee - another oft-photographed subject):

My dog:

My neighbor Lucy's flowers:

A low fence at Portland's Japanese Garden (using film!):

Let's see your favorite subjects.

Philadelphia Skyline...disappointingly, I won't have access to this view soon.

There's also a tree down the street from my house that's given me nice results.

Lately, I've been using myself as a model for different lighting.

I'm endlessly shooting one thing... well, not one but three of the same one thing:
Dogs Life | m8o | Fotki.com

Then next when the seasons permit... or I go to an arboretum:
Flowers | m8o | Fotki.com

*snip*

Well, I would say flowers, but I don't really think of them as the "same thing", I view them all as being different. However I do go back to the NY Botanical Gardens over and over. I seem ot have an inordinately large amount of photos of the main conservatory dome there:

And I must have 20 shots of this bench on top of a knoll on my sister's property:

I've also found that I am physically incapable of passing up the opportunity to try and capture a reflection, especially if it's a water reflection.

Great thread Betsy!

I go back to this old abandoned cottage walking distance from my house.

And have way too many sunsets (but that won't stop me from taking more)

And love to go the shore and particularly lighthouses:

Of the 25,000 shots of Ben:

Of the 10,000 shots of my various coffee accoutrement:

Finally, of the 5,000 shots of my silver-rimmed glasses:

(Counts are approximate, but I wouldn't be surprised to know that I have 25,000 shots of Ben.)
