Sunrise
Lens: DA* 16-50 Camera: K5 Photo Location: Banff, Alberta, Canada
Posted By: daacon, 01-02-2013, 06:05 AM

One of the advantages of being so far north, is we can get up at 06:30 am , get ready, eat, head out by 07:00 , drive 40 minutes and still make the sunrise . I think it was an 08:49 sunrise this day. The days are getting longer until they peak in the summer with about 17+ hours of daylight.

We arrived with about an hour to spare , met some other photographers up from Calgary just for some sunrise shots (it's about an hour drive from there)

#2 Sun is almost up ....

#3 have not used the fisheye in quite some time thought I would throw it on for a shot.

and what made this trip to the mountains special was my daughter joined me. (gave her my old K20D and a couple of lenses when I bought the K5 , she had my old K10D before that). We spent three days together in the park and had a great time. Me my knee is still sore from squatting and getting down low - after our three days she went snow boarding for two days ahhhh to be young again.

Wow, these are stunners old buddy. Really something! I also smiled at your mechanism for disposing of old gear - the same as mine.

I like the first photo. The water looks so tranquil. At 6 o'clock in the water, there is a dust spot. It is in both photo one and two. Thank you for sharing your photos. Happy New Year.

Nice location nice shots of the location, and you are lucky to be sharing it with our daughter. Just think how much she would have loved you going snow boarding with her.

Thanks Grant - I imagine it looks a little different from the last time we were all there ( You and Anne would have had to have some slightly warmer coats )

Dave, I have a set of garden knee pads that work great. We are getting a little older and everything helps! JIM
