I'd appreciate any C&C on these 2 shots. Thanks.

Pretty good shots. Like the first one, there is a bit of CA/PF in the upper left, but AFAIC it's no biggie. It looks like a peaceful green place. I'm not as fond of the second shot, I like the bamboo that is arching over the path, but somehow it seems a bit lost amongst all the other stuff going on in the photo. It is competing with the path and neither is strong enough to overcome the other. But that's just my opinion

I actually like the second shot better although it may be a bit too bright. I think the bamboo leaning over the path adds alot of interest

Really like the first shot. I wonder if I might have tried to get some bamboo stems in the foreground if that was an option. You got a good exposure. I agree with NaClH2O on the second shot. There's a lack of a strong focal point.

Thanks for the comments. I was having a hard time judging these two shots. I have to agree the first shot has a stronger focal point. I like the second one, but I guess the branch over the walkway in the second is too distracting.

Good suggestion. Next time, I'll tell my wife to go and have a sit while I frame the shot. But knowing my wife, the shot will still not have anyone on the bench.

I did some more work on #1. I cropped it a little - anyone think this shot is better cropped?

I think that shot is better cropped. It has more continuity. By the way, the image is pretty sharp. What focal length did you shoot at?

Thanks for your comments. Shot #1 was with a K100D and DA 16-45mm set at 21mm, EXIF was 1/15 sec, f/6.7, iso 400. I also used a tripod.

I think the cropped version works better. The composition is stronger, and my eye doesn't wander around the frame. My attention locks right onto the bench. Looks like a nice place to visit.
