This year's Bigma Birds
Lens: Bigma Camera: K5 Photo Location: Saugus ISO: 1600 Shutter Speed: 1/750s Aperture: F8
Posted By: charliezap, 01-05-2013, 01:21 PM

I spent about 1/2 hour this afternoon with the Bigma from 50ft distance.I don't usually shoot at 1600 ISO but the sun was low and the feeder was mostly in the shadows hence some noise but overall I was more concerned with IQ. I had to go to the "Batteries Plus" store and get a backup battery. My original Pentax lithium works fine but my non Pentax battery ( it was getting old) would not trip the shutter when using the Bigma. The new one works just fine. Have a great New Year.--charliezap

those are really sharp shots using a long lens, love the contrast of the cardinal in the snow.

Usually Bob with a nice high sun I can shoot at 200-400 ISO but it's winter and I think that the Bigma will be great in this following year.I can't wait until the h-birds come back. They won't stand a chance.--charliezap

Looks like you're getting great results from the Bigma! I like the Cardinal in the snow for the same reason as Bob.

It's really a learning curve with this beast.I hope that there is much more to improve on.I took some pics an hour ago with the Bigma and hope to post them in a bit.--charliezap
