Lake Louise and Morraine Lake

Hi guys,

The last post of my Canadian Rockies series. The icons of the Rockies, Lake Louise and Morraine, both shot at sunrise and early morning. Went to Lake Louise 2 mornings and the 2nd morning I got this lovely red glow of clouds over Lake Louise. All of the following are HDRs due to the extreme dynamic range at sunrise:

Really well done... what do you use for your HDR processing? I liked #4 the best of all.

Gorgeous! I love 4 & 5. I only wish I could do something close to this but can't even imagine this beauty in my mind!

May I ask what filters you were using?

Beautiful images. What software did you use to create the HDR?

Thanks guys! As for the software I used for the HDRs, it's Photomatix, which I believe is one of the best out there. Using tone mapping, not all images work well with HDRs though, I find sunrise and sunsets works best because of all the blown highlights of the sky and shadows of the land.

For filters, only 2 and 4 were taken with filters, a 10 stop ND that let me use 20 sec + exposure to blur the clouds.

Beautiful shots, know both the places well you picked a perfect day such calm waters. I was just there a few weeks ago (not Morraine lake as that road is closed in the winter).

Thanks! #3 is taken just before sunrise so there's a nice pink glow on the clouds and water being so calm. It helps early in the morning where water is at the calmest.
