More mist!
Posted By: thomasjmpark, 02-19-2008, 10:20 AM

Hi,

Just another pic from my misty adventure the other day. Bit more processing in this one. Me thinks the island might be a bit central, not sure though

Tom, I think you could do a good trade by setting up a stall in your place of work. These captures of yours are superb. Well done again.

And no, I don't think it is too central. The compositon is excellent.

The blue misty hills are great! Like you mentioned, the island is centered and sometimes that does not work, but here it does. I find my eyes start at the top of the hills, follow the slope to the center of the picture and then rest on the foremost island. If there could be the tiniest of improvement, and it is impossible now, would be to have smooth and not wavy water. The scene is, as others have noted, very soothing indeed - like a double shot of Scotch after a hearty meal.

Thanks Jeff for the feedback I agree about the water, one day I will go to the lake and it will be completely still. The ripples were caused by a boat that had passed by about 5 minutes earlier.

I like your 'irn bru' avatar, one of my favourite soft drinks, its made with iron girders you know Its also nice mixed with whisky

I hear it's good for what ails you - maybe even a substitute for 'hair of the dog'. It's impossible to find up here but on my next trip to Toronto I'll hunt some down. Last bottle I had was at the Fergus highland games this past summer. My wife thought I'd gone stark raving - she caught me eating haggis and drinking Irn Bru, all with a smile on my face. Ya gotta luv it!

Ahh, the wife always seems to find out bad habbits! Haggis and irn bru sounds like a good meal to me, now that i live in England its also hard to get both. The English also view Scottish money as being foriegn! even though we are meant to be a 'united kingdom'. Oh well, ignorance is bliss I guess
