Ice Sculptures - Natural Lighting- Ottawa Winterlude

Any suggestions for techniques on taking better ice sculptures? Thanks. Ken.

Transparent objects like those have to be really tough to photograph well, and you've done a great job.

Very Nice.

You'll discover some techniques for such shots soon enough.
Photography is all about the light, and ways you can use it to your advantage. So with that in mind a different time of day, or a flash would have given you different results.

Wonderful subjects to shoot, Stu already said it about the conditions and flash, also you could perhaps have here an opportunity to play with your favourite image editor to try some improvements, something like this:
