Foggy, Dreary, and Foggy....

What a dreary day! We are in our normal January thaw of sorts - 40deg F, drizzle, and fog from the snow melting. I had to take a shot of my view from the house across the river at the mountain behind - the shot really came out great as it shows how it really looks and how it makes me feel. Taken at 2pm in the afternoon.

While looking at this photo, I though it was such a difference from the splendor of color the same mountain shows in the nice months. Found a photo that is as similar as I could find - just taken from a slightly difference perspective and different lens. This one was taken on October 1 2012 - not all that long ago it was so beautiful!

I have a friend that lives in Whitney Point north of Binghamton, NY and he's been socked in all day. Certainly not conducive to any photography. Although, when it starts to lift, things get interesting pretty quickly.

Hi Stan, That first photo is sure evocative of your mood and the general sense of an environment at rest. I love the curve of the mountain barely visible through the fog. We have been hit by the same heat wave. It is actually going up to 9 degrees Celsius today (a record breaker) before the cold and snow returns next week. It will melt the snow off the roof and driveway (I hope) but there is enough in the bush it will probably only compress what is there.

Cheer up! The dreary days won't last Thank you for sharing!
