Great shot ... but I do not like too much the top background (with Citizen). I feel that the shot could be cropped and PP to remove the central background, and this could be an exceptional shot. My 5 cents...

Thank you for sharing.

The first one perhaps just needs the brightness knocked down a bit on the band at the top. I like it better. What happen to the flowers and the bees, I though your weather was okay over there at the moment to be outside?

I see it's time you started taking product shots - I like the first one.

Very nice!

I also am just getting equipment together to do some product shots - need to shoot indoors as it's so cold outside. I can only hope to get some results like this one. You've set the bar for me to work toward.

I guess I should keep quiet about the cold to our Aussie neighbors right now!

Thanks Dave, it's a thought I've had but not sure where to start.

I bought one of the following to help with this project which I feel will come in handy for other things.

Optex Portable Photo Studio and Lighting Kit at $147.00 in Camera Lighting Accessories

Oh I paid $199.00 by the way which I should have known if I went to CameraHouse I'd pay more.

That is neat - I've never seen one with the side lights integrated to cover the entire sides of the box.

I bought one of these last month when they were on special at B&H ($49). I am going to try lighting it with 5600k compact fluorescent lights, or 2 off camera flashes. Just waiting until my next trip to the big city to find the CFL's. Check the "item demo" link to see how it works.

I love taking pics of watches, but I've always been too cheap to buy a light box. Instead, I use this. It doesn't look like much but I get good results.

I expect to see some flower shots in that setup. The cooperation of the bees could be an issue. I might truck on down to office works and see about getting one.

Yes I went to textile traders today and bought some material and velcro tape as backdrops, cost me a huge $12.50 In fact, it cost me more in petrol to get there. LOL
