One of the least visited national monuments in the US, there are beautiful sandstone formations that can be viewed during the 23 mile paved road through the park which has many turnouts for those photos. Here is a link in the event you find yourself near Grand Junction or Fruita, you'll enjoy your visit.

Thanks for bringing back memories, Bob! My wife and i camped here for a few days back in '95 I think. As you say, little known and visited. Some nice walks down in the canyons, too.

Absolutely splendid series here. The first and last, in my opinion are superb. The horizontal lines formed by layers contrast well with the verticals and diagonal lines of the structures.

at some of the turnouts you can walk right to the edge of the cliffs and I have noticed that I have aged the heights bothering me. It must be some type of internal survival instinct for the elderly
What amazing landscapes you have captured Bob.And looking at the background with those houses etc, so close to all this.

Another fantastic series! Such a beautiful land and it seems like you can see forever in some of these pics. Thanks so much for sharing, Bob!
It was sort of funny Lori, the people that run the campground we were in, had never visited this park. It's only about 10 miles or less to the park entrance.

Jeff, I think you are one of just a few people that have said they visited here and we know a lot of people that camp and travel. Never took any of the canyon walks, I bet it is beautiful.

Erosion is amazing isn't it, makes for some great photos and I never get tired of visiting our parks in the s/w. Just a little bit of difference in light changes the landscapes, makes you think you have never visited before. TFL....

It is very conveniently located to the city and yet isn't visited that much, very surprising to us, because there is a lot to see here including wildlife. I guess it is like a hidden treasure, we have visited several times on our travels to the east side of Colorado. Thanks for commenting, always appreciated. Bob

A great series Bob. And taken with a toy camera too, but it was a Pentax. Thanks for sharing. Cliff
