When I went through the new Morian Hall of Paleontology a few weeks ago, I ended up making the jaunt a photographic rather than educational one; consequently, I learned very little
. However, I do remember that this guy (gal?) was a prehistoric shark that I believe (?) is called a Megalodon, which Wikipedia tells me was roughly 60 ft long and lived 28-1.5 million years ago. The jaw is about 12 ft wide; the second photo includes the fossilized "back end" of a complete mastodon (most of which isn't shown) and provides a bit of scale.
